Where We Work

We Cover Charlottesville and a Wide Area of Central Virginia

We’re based in Charlottesville and serve an approximately one-hour radius — taking in communities from Waynesboro and Staunton to the west, Culpeper and Orange to the north, Lynchburg to the south, and Richmond and Fredericksburg to the east. We also cover Harrisonburg, Roanoke, and Winchester for select projects.

If you’re not sure whether we cover your area, just reach out. We serve more ground than most local deck companies, and the answer is usually yes.

Before You Reach Out

Questions We Get Before Most First Conversations

A few things people commonly ask before they fill out the form.

Yes. We come to your property, walk the site, and have a real conversation about what you want to build. There’s no charge for the consultation and no obligation to move forward. The written proposal we put together afterward is also free. We only get paid when we do the work.

No. We don’t charge travel fees for consultations or projects within our standard service area — which covers most of central Virginia within roughly an hour of Charlottesville. For the furthest points in our coverage area (Roanoke, Winchester, Richmond, Fredericksburg), we cover projects that are a strong fit for how we work. When you reach out, we’ll confirm whether your location is within our coverage.

It depends on current scheduling, which varies by season. We’ll be in touch after you fill out the form to discuss timing and find a time that works. Spring is our busiest season for consultations — if you’re hoping to build in spring or early summer, reaching out in late winter gives the best scheduling flexibility.

Not at all. Some clients come to us with detailed plans and specific materials in mind. Others know roughly what they want but need help working through the design. Both approaches work equally well — the consultation is the right starting point regardless of how developed your idea is. If you just know you want a deck and aren’t sure what else, that’s a fine place to begin.

Yes. We build decks and outdoor platforms for restaurants, hotels, event venues, multi-family properties, and other commercial clients throughout central Virginia. Commercial builds involve different code requirements and higher load specifications, and we’re set up for that work. The process is the same as residential: a site assessment, a written proposal, and a build that matches what was agreed.
